Nainital

NainitalNainital is located in the foothills of Kumaon in Uttarakhand  at an altitude of 1938  meters above sea level,  Nainital derives its name from the Naini lake, an important tourist  place of Nainital. Nainital is located in the Kumaon region and  is popularly known as  the Lake District of India  known.

Nainital  is a hill station famous for honeymoon packages, weekend destination, attracts hundreds of domestic and foreign tourists every year. You will find restaurants, offices and hotels  located in the mall. Nainital Zoo is a major tourist spot where you can find rare snow leopard, the steppe eagle and black bear of the Himalayas. Nainital newest attraction is the Cave of the Eco Garden where children can learn about the ecosphere.

Nainital is famous for its various schools and research centers. The Observatory and the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) is located 9 kilometers from Manora peak Nainital and is the center of astronomical studies and optical tracking of artificial satellites. It also hosts many renowned schools proudly part of the British era. The main schools are Sherwood College, College of St. Joseph, and Sainik School. Nainital is also one of the campuses of the University of Kumaun.
