Bageshwar

Bageshwar Districtlocated at an altitude of  1004mt's Bageshwar is the headquarter of Bageshwar district in Uttarakhand. This place is famous for its temples, and is located at the confluence of the rivers Bhagirathi, Gomti and Saryu. Many of the temples of this area are centrally situated in the town.

This city has spiritual significance as it is believed to have received blessings of Lord Shiva. few of the popular temples of this town are Kalikka Temple, Durga Temple, Bagnath Temple, Ganga Mai Temple, Thingal Bhairav Temple, Hanuman Temple, Vaneshwar Temple, Bhairav Temple and many more.

Tourists can go for journey to Baijnath, which is  twenty six km from Bageshwar and home to temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Though the city of Bageshwar can be visited throughout the year, March is that the month that attracts many of tourists and saints because a fair is organised in this city during Shivratri.

The city of Bageshwar is surrounded by numerous tourist destinations like Suraj Kund, that is found located north of Bageshwar, and Agni Kund, that lies within the south. On the east falls the Bhileswar Mountains and also the west has the Nileshwar Mountains.

This place isn't solely known for its temples, except for the opportunities of trekking too. Trekkers, who shall move to the glaciers of Kafni, Pindari and Sundardunga, have to be compelled to enter the route via Bageshwar.
